In Training

Many of you know that it would be Patrick's dream for our kids to play hockey. Finn got a hockey stick and goal for his birthday and there's been a lot of driveway hockey since then. No promises of any hockey stars yet, but they definitely love some driveway hockey!

Easter and Then Some

We were lucky enough to have the Lennons visiting us for Easter this year.  It also happened to be Patrick's birthday on Easter Sunday, so we did a lot of celebrating.  Easter brunch (which is my tradition), including baked french toast, egg casserole, and maple syrup bacon. Oh and then Patrick's special cake request for dessert--yellow cake with white chocolate chips and peanut butter frosting.  Phew!  Patrick claims it was his favorite cake ever.  I honestly couldn't even bring myself to try it. It just didn't sound good to me.

Just when you thought the eating extravaganza was complete, Cathy (my mother-in-law) kicked in gear to make Easter dinner, (also Patrick's birthday dinner) complete with turkey, stuffing and scalloped potatoes.  And if that doesn't fill you up just reading all that, Cathy also made her homemade, unbelievable, apple pie! Enough to prescribe yourself an immediate diet I know.  Did I also mention that we had Easter basket hunts as well as an egg hunt, followed by candy eating (by the kids of course)?  At the end of the day, we decided it was just one of those over indulgence days. Here are some snap shots from the day. To be fair, there are a lot more then some...

Prepping for egg dying.

Hard at work.

Heath was dying more than eggs.

The gang post Easter egg hunt.

I couldn't resist but to pull a picture from last year to check out the changes.

Note that Heath is now wearing the jacket Finn had on in last year's photo.

Yet another attempt at a family photo.

These two love each other!

I hope you endured all the photos!

Ballerina

I don't know how people are able to blog daily, even several times a week.  I think about it all the time, but it's just hard to find the time to sit down and get the juices flowing--not to mention loading pictures, editing them etc.  Well, no real excuses here, just an acknowledgment, that once again, it's been awhile. I'm going to try to play catch up, and it's not going to be in order, so just bear with me here.

What is the most recent news, is Lexi's recent ballet recital.  She's been in ballet and tap class since the Fall and it all finally culminated in a performance this past Saturday, with a packed crowd.  She showed no stage freight and was truly a gem. We were definitely proud parents.

Lexi and Carolyn getting ready for dress rehearsal.

Lexi relaxing before the performance.

Like she turned 16 all of the sudden...

And then we remembered they are really just kids.

A shot of all the girls pre-show.

Just to give you the effect of what we got to see.  They were adorable tapping away!

She was a true star!
