Wolf Pack

Patrick recently placed these magnets on the back of his car to show his school spirit. When Lexi saw the Wolf Pack logo she said "Daddy, why did you take that (referring to the wolf) off your shirt?"

Waterlogged

The past several weeks have been busy between my travels back and forth to Chicago (one time with Lexi in tow) and Patrick and Heath's wedding visit to NC. We have continued to explore the area here in Maine. Here are a couple of recent Lennon water extravaganzas.

Back Cove Water Fountain Park
This is a great toddler park which also happens to have a water fountain the kids can play in.




Ferry Beach (Scarborough)
This is our new favorite beach. Here we visited with Sam, Jen and Jess.




Car Wash
Finn and Lexi help Patrick wash the car while Heath and I watch from a far.



Well Lexi helped at any rate. Finny tried....



Heath thinks it's all pretty funny...(he looks a little bit like an old man here with lots of chins and the uncomfortable looking ball cap).

Penguin

So I know right now that about 60% of you think one thing when you read penguin, and the other 40% think something else. Well, in this case, I'm not referring to the cute black and white, waddling, feathery friend. I'm referring to the hockey Penguin. Patrick keeps on calling Heath our "hockey player". I just smile and say "ah huh." But then we came back from his 6 month check-up recently and now I'm starting to think he may just be our hockey player. Not to bore you with details that mean nothing to most, but Heath - he's off the charts for height and in the 90th percentile for both weight and head. For inquiring minds, here are the stats:

29 3/4 inches (I swear there may be 2 year olds that are not that long yet)
19 lbs 11ounces (why oh why are we still trying to carry him in the baby car seat?)

So stay tuned. We'll let you know how he does on skates.

The Simplest Things

It dawned on me that it's the simplest things that keep kids happy. I'm hoping we can learn from that. Enjoy these videos. I hope they put a smile on your face like they do for us.

Growing Up

Lexi is growing, growing up. I don't just mean she's getting taller. She's getting wiser and funnier and more savvy by the day. Yesterday on a drive in the car she looked at Heath and then made a frustrated face. I turned back and said, "What Lex, what's the matter?" She said, with her arms crossed and a pouty face, "I just wish Heath would grow-up so I can play with him."

And then there are the funny things she says, just because she's still learning that remind us that maybe she's not too grown-up yet...

Lexi says, "the dress with the up sleeves" (the short sleeved dress), "Finny's all mixed-up shirt" (tie-die shirt), "the sky is white and fuzzy" (It's foggy outside).

The last pretty funny, maybe scary thing our almost 4 year old does is ask whether the Jonas brothers will be on every time we see the Today's show since she once saw them on the show. Isn't she too young to like the Jonas brothers?

Beach Hopping

Finally, the way life should be. The sun finally appeared and the weather is truly perfect, 70ish with no humidity. We've begun to explore the beaches

We were also lucky enough to catch one of LL Bean's free concerts Saturday afternoon - Dan Zanes. The kids had a blast dancing.

Itsy Bitsy

Finny's in the stage where he repeats everything he hears. Sometimes he gets it mixed up and a lot of the time he has no idea what anything means and says it anyway. His latest...he insists it's the "Itsy Bitsy Spider Man," and sings the song that way. He loves to say "seriously," which he gets from mommy, but we're not sure he knows exactly what he means when he says it.

He loves to do anything that Lexi does. Here you'll see he's playing dress-up, like Lexi, although we have no "boy" dress-up, so he's not afraid to wear Snow White. He balances it by playing with cars while wearing the dress. Love him!

Boom!

The weather finally broke on the 4th of July and we were able to get out and go the parade in Freeport. It was a small parade, which was perfect for our little ones.

Finn got his fair share of firetruck viewing although he spent a lot of time covering his ears when they sounded their sirens.

Lexi got to see several "princesses", which were the misc Ms. Maine girls (there were about 6 of them I think). The kids loved it and got to have their faces painted afterward.

We headed back to Freeport for the fireworks that night, remembering how much we regretted missing the fireworks last year. The kids were very excited, but when everything started, Finn was completely terrified, covered his ears (once again), and buried his head for the entire show. Funny, since when the fireworks ended, Finn said, "night, night fireworks" as if he they were his friend and he was sad to see them go.

P.S. Heath watched the entire show and loved them.
