I know it has been awhile. I have to be honest that my thought of turning over a new leaf to blog more is not realistic! I've been away more than I've been here in the past 6 weeks or so, traveling for work. It will slow soon, but not soon enough.
So here's the very festive Valentine's day update anyway. Truth is, Lexi has been asking about Valentine's day for over a month. In fact, we've been doing a nightly countdown.
The Cards:
The kids prepped for the day by making Valentines cards for their classmates. Luckily we have the most creative nanny ever - thank you Trish! Check out Finn's finished product above. Adorable, right? I didn't get a picture of Lexi's, but hers were cute as well with cut out heart paper carefully layered onto a heart pencil. Both kids enjoyed exchanging their Valentine's cards with their friends.
The Cookies:
It's almost impossible for a holiday to pass in the Lennon house without cookies, right?
I have to say that I used a new recipe for both the cookies and the frosting. They turned out pretty much inedible--hard as a rock actually. The quest continues for the perfect sugar cookie and frosting recipe. Anyone dare to pass along something I can't mess-up?So here's the very festive Valentine's day update anyway. The Dance:
The holiday topped off with Patrick and Lexi attending their very first father-daughter dance. It really doesn't get much cuter than this. They got to have their own special night out, kicked off with dinner at a restaurant, followed by the dance.
Finn wanted to go so badly, so I had to let him jump into one of the pics too! The boys and I did have our own special movie night at home too.
