Fourteen

Our sweet girl, Alabama, turned 14 today. Just over 1 1/2 years ago we were told she had six months to live, so we feel lucky for every extra day we have.  She is such a gentle soul and has brought such joy to all of us.  Happy Birthday Alabama!

Missing Chicago

I'm stuck in DC trying to get back from my national sales meeting in Orlando. I needed a pick-me-up as I've been wearing the same clothes for 45+ hours and I'm sick on top of it all. I learned about this at our meeting and it inspired me and made me proud to be a Chicagoan. If you haven't already seen it, it is worth a watch (with your volume up). This was a surprise for Oprah...

Baby Steps

I mentioned I received a new cool camera for Christmas in my previous post. I haven't had a great deal of time to learn or practice much, but I'm starting to try to take photos that are not in manual mode (go figure) and without flash (trying to learn to manage my own light sources). It's not that easy I've learned. Well, at least, not for me anyway. Hopefully you'll be able to witness progress. Just know that this is the starting point and the hope is that it can only get better....

Happy Belated to Heath

It's been over a month since my last post. Life has gotten in the way unfortunately. In the past month, Heath turned 1, I traveled to Chicago 2x and to Montreal 1x and managed a birthday myself (but who keeps track anymore). Finny has even pretended to go on the real potty a couple of times. See - a lot can happen in a month. I also got an awesome camera for Christmas and I was hoping to have some superb pictures to share. But let's just say I'll need a lot of practice before I will be producing anything really good.

This post is really to focus on the birthday boy. His official 1 year stats include 34 inches and 25 lbs! He shows no signs or desire to walk and continues to get around fine with his modified version of crawling. He's happy most of the time and desperately wants to be a part of everything Lex and Finn are doing. That makes for some interesting play.
